Course Description

Learn how Product Owners and Product Managers should work together to achieve the best possible customer and business outcomes. The SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager training will teach you how to adopt a customer-centric approach to building products, using Scaled Agile Framework to deliver more value, faster. Topics covered in this SAFe Product Owner. Product Manager training include the daily role of POs and PMs; collaborating with engineering teams and business stakeholders; how to write epics, features, and stories; and how to design, prioritize, build, test, and deliver product with increased productivity and higher quality.

The course covers the tactical responsibilities of these roles in the Agile Release Train.

Certification

Exam fee included in course fee. Candidates will have 90 minutes to finish the exam once it starts. The exam consists of 45 questions in total and you must answer a minimum of 34 questions correctly out of 45. You can take the exam at any time and the fee for the first attempt will be included in the course registration fee only if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion.

On clearing your Leading SAFe exam, you receive the coveted SAFe Agilist certificate from the esteemed Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and join the elite club of SAFe 6 Agilist certification holders worldwide.

Prerequisite

Any interested individual regardless of experience can attend this course. 

Recommendation for those who intend to take the SAFe® POPM certification exam should have: 

  • At least 5+ years of experience in software development, testing, business analysis, product or project management 
  • Prior working experience in Scrum

Curriculum

Lesson 1: Exploring Product Owner and Product Management Roles and Responsibilities

Learning Objectives: Understand the key principles and practices of SAFe for Lean Enterprises, including value streams, the Lean-Agile mindset, and the responsibilities of Product Owners and Product Managers.

Lesson 2: Preparing for PI Planning

Learning Objectives: Master the essential aspects of PI (Program Increment) planning and execution in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment, including crafting a clear Product/Solution Vision, creating Solution and PI Roadmaps.

Lesson 3: Establishing Team and Technical Agility

Learning Objectives: Develop proficiency in communicating a clear and compelling vision for Agile teams and programs, skillfully establish PI (Program Increment) objectives, effectively identify, track, and resolve dependencies.

Lesson 4: Building Solutions with Agile Product Delivery

Learning Objectives: Proficiently utilize User Stories and Story Maps to articulate user needs and align development efforts, execute effective Iteration Planning, implement Team Kanban to visualize and optimize workflow, and conduct Backlog Refinement for enhanced backlog management.

Lesson 5: Exploring Lean Portfolio Management

Learning Objectives: Master the critical elements of Lean-Agile frameworks by effectively participating in and facilitating the Product Owner (PO) Sync meetings, and skilfully orchestrating System Demos for large-scale solution visibility.

Lesson 6: Practicing SAFe

Learning Objectives: Apply SAFe principles, practices, and tools effectively in real-world scenarios, demonstrating proficiency in implementing SAFe frameworks and methodologies to drive organizational agility.
